The Boone County Amateur Radio Association today lost not only a dear friend, but
one of its founding fathers. Although Frank was unable to participate in many activities the past
few months, whenever, and wherever we gathered you always felt his spirit and his guidance
with us.
Whenever there was a snow-covered road, an icy bridge, a severe thunderstorm rumbling through
the county Frank was always there to lend a helping hand. Whenever a fellow amateur radio
operator advanced in the hobby, or even considered it Frank seemed to be always first in line to
congratulate, and encourage them.
Frank was a Teacher, Elmer, and friend, and an inspiration to all whom knew him. He was the finest example of what this great hobby is about. 73's Frank you will be missed, but never forgotten..
The Boone County Amateur Radio Association today lost another dear friend, and
one of its founding fathers. Jr was quite active with the local club up until the middle of June when he
suffered another heartattack. Jr's health hasn't been good the past couple of years, but he was there
when you needed help. Jr was at St. Vincents Hospital when he passed away on 07/08/2004. He was
in an induced comma when he developed Pneumonia and a high fever. Our Prayers and Condolences
goes out to his wife Chris "N9VLV" and their family during their time of Sorrow and Loss.
Whenever there was a severe thunderstorm rumbling through the county Jr was always
there to lend a helping hand. Most of the times he would be mobile out chasing storms, but was also a very
well versed net control operator. Whenever a fellow amateur radio operator advanced in the hobby, or even
considered it. Jr seemed to be always one of the first to congratulate, and encourage them.
Jr was an Elmer, and friend, and an inspiration to all whom knew him. He was another fine example of what this great hobby is about. 73's Jr you will be missed, but never forgotten..
