Local Amateurs got together to help Frank N9JST get some antenna work done on his antenna farm. Performing the work on the tower was Jerry N9RAB. On the roof and ground as support crew was Craig KB9SIQ, Charlie N9JUV, JR N9JSS, Dave N9ZZM, Mike N9MSZ, Nick KB9YUF, Steve W9RO, Steve KB9RPS.
Linda W9JST was ready and waiting with her camera in hand for that next photo opportunity to mark the event. The coffee and hot chocolate was waiting inside next to some doughnuts for the gang. Jimmie N9VXQ and Debra his xyl made the trip to lend mostly moral support.
During the antenna party several topics came up about what the local hams would like to see happen here in Boone County. Ideas was shared and some have been acted on and others are ideas being considered for the future. As times goes we hope to see most of the ideas come to life for the Amateur community of Boone County. The earliest to come about was the start up of the BCARA net. The net meets each Thursday night at 8:00 PM on 147.105MHz. With the group we have on the radio it should be no problem hearing anyone that is trying to check-in. We hope that you can make it some Thursday night if your available.
