The BCARA would like to express our appreciation to Dick WD9GYK & his YL Linda Glidewell for their hospitality and the hosting of Field Day 2006 for the BCARA this year. We all had a great time during Field Day. Dick and Linda went above and beyond to make it enjoyable for us all "THANKS TO YOU BOTH" for a wonderful time. There was a lot of hard work put into getting the site ready for Field Day operations. Dick WD9GYK made his property ready for us and made several things that helped us during the event.

We will try to cover the group of amateurs and friends that attended Field Day this year. Attendees were as follows: Dick WD9GYK & his YL Linda Glidewell, Lloyd Jones, Tom KB9UWR & his YL Judy Mooney, Jeff KC9ANB & his YL Amber Brown with their son's, Elmer Shortz K9KIR, Chad Hurst KB9OGJ, Harley Patterson KC9GLD, Charlie Harper N9JUV, Allen "Ted" Bare KC8CLJ, Jimmie Giles Jr N9VXQ, George Fields KC9HFZ, Cheryl Lipman KC9HGA, Steve KB9RPS & his YL Karen McCraken, Steve Lipps KG9LX and his grandson, Steve Chandler N9UIB, Bill Hardin KF9HR, John Davey N9SEZ, Jon Crispen K9JRC, Nate Crispen and Kevin Hall KC9DYM. We "THANK" you all for making the BCARA Field Day a great event for us all this year.

"THANKS" to Harley KC9GLD, Dick WD9GYK and Tom KB9UWR for all your hard work at getting the antennas in the air for us. This was work put into by these fellows that took several hours. We also want to "THANK" Dan Davis KC9FVO, Harley KC9GLD and Dick WD9GYK for an evenings hard work at getting the electrical power ready for use on Field Day. We also want to "THANK" everyone that allowed us to borrow equipment that made the set up possible for Field Day. The weather made for an enjoyable day. With clear blue skies and moderate temperatures and the humidity was low. It was just a beautiful day all around for Field Day.

The group was able to visit with the amateurs and their families during Field Day. We also got to share a nice meal prepared by Dick WD9GYK and his YL Linda. There were covered dishes brought in by the group to share. The main attraction was Dick's grilled chicken legs, hot dogs, along with Tom's bean soup, a tossed salad, shish kebabs and a batch of baked beans & wieners that delighted the groups hunger. There was cake and cookie desserts that finished the meal. Several types of cold drinks was available for us, brought in by several of the amateurs in coolers.
